Alfred Salter Primary School

Parents, Teachers and Friends of Alfred Salter Association (PTFA)

The Alfred Salter PTFA committee helps to raise funds for the benefit of all children at the school. Anyone who has a child at the school or who works at the school can get involved – we really appreciate any help that you can give!

Throughout the year we will be running events and activities for children and adults. We hope that you can help out with event planning, crafts, games, baking and much more and also have fun and get to know the school and other parents better whilst doing so.

Getting in touch

If you have any fundraising ideas, or would like to help out with upcoming events, then please come along to the next Alfred Salter PTFA meeting or speak to your class reps.  All support and ideas are greatly welcomed.

Please also look out for news and information in the Friday Newsletter, here on the school website or on posters at school.

Committee

The Alfred Salter PTFA committee is currently run by a Chair, two co-Vice Chairs a Secretary and a Treasurer, all of whom are elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), held each academic year. The committee also includes two other members. All committee members are volunteers and are supported by year group reps. They meet regularly, around twice every half term, to discuss, plan and coordinate upcoming events.

We currently have some parents who have volunteered to be Class Reps, but we are also looking for more reps. This involves helping to inform parents of planned events and generating support from your class. Please come along to the next meeting if you are interested.

Fundraising

What have we raised in 2023-24:

  • £5000 from last year’s fundraising.
  • £7000 from the fun run and disco

What are we raising money for?

An amazing climbing frame for the main playground!

it will cost £20,000 approximately which includes installation and safety surface.

We have £8000 to go which will hopefully be raised with a combination of events and sponsorship. If anyone’s company wants to sponsor us or if anyone knows of any grants for help. Please email friendsofalfredsalter@gmail.com
